Is it possible for medical magnets to help with the treatment of cancer in human and animal? Here’s a question that we received by email a few weeks ago and the answer:

Hello,
My dog has been diagnosed with bone cancer at the top of his tibia. I have
him om k-9 immunity trans factor and omegas. I am giving him cancer diet
food. I am wanting to know if there is anything magnetic therapy can do
to help. I have got info against and for but don’t know where to find
magnets or if it is a bad idea to use. Please help me with any info about
this. Mary Beckman and Patch

Dear Mary and Patch

I am very sorry to hear about your illness Patch.

Unfortunately, there is very little magnetic therapy can do when treating cancer.

Has the vet offered any treatment?

In cases of terminal cancer where there is no hope of recovery magnets can
help to ease the pain that the person or animal is suffering until the end.

If there is hope of a recovery for Patch then I would not use magnets at
this point. It is thought that one of the benefits of magnetic therapy is
that it encourages new cell growth. This is generally a good thing for
most people as it will result in healing but for cancer sufferers it could
mean that it may promote the cancer to grow which obviously is not going
to be good news.

None of this is for definite, as it hasn’t been fully tested for obvious
reasons, but we have to air on the side of caution.

If you need any more help or advice please get back in touch.

I wish you both well.

Best Wishes
Kat
