Question:
I wasn’t aware prior to my order that you should not use magnetic therapy while receiving chemotherapy treatments. My father received his last chemotherapy in January. Is it safe to use a magnetic mattress cover?

Answer:

The reason that we advise peole not to use magnetic therapy whilst receiving chemotherapy treatment, is because of the way in which magnets work.

In normal circumstances exposing the body to a magnetic field will only have beneficial results; increased circulation, healing of the cells and tissues, reduced pain and inflammation, improved mobility.

One of the ways in which magnets can do this is that they encourage new cell growth within the area that they are placed.

The object of chemotherapy is to reduce the growth of cancer cells within the body. It is not known for sure but it is thought that using magnetic therapy during chemotherapy may counteract the effects and cancel out the effectivness of the chemotherapy drug.

It will be perfectly safe to use magnetic therapy now. We usually recommed that you wait 1-2 weeks after finishing chemotherapy before you begin to use magnetic therapy.

So if your father finished his treatment in January, there is no reason why he shouldn’t use the magnets now.
