Don’t want to take drugs? Massage and hot/cold packs are 2 very effective and cheap alternative pain treatments. Here’s the advice that kat gave wendy to relieve neck and shoulder pain.
wendyroper: I have shoulder and elbow pain. I use the magnetic wand and wear a lower back belt which I bought from you. The magnetic back belt is working but now I have started with this neck and shoulder problem. I have had an x-ray and my doctor advised me that there was nothing they could do and prescribed Baclofen and Meloxicam. But I do not want to take these as I am on blood pressure tablets and do not want to take the risk after reading your article on these drugs.
kat: Have you ever had any injury to this area?
wendyroper: no but when gardening a couple of years ago the elbow pain started and I had an injection into it.
kat: The elbow pain could be completly un-related or due to the muscles in the neck and shoulder tightening and putting pressure on nerves that go into the arm.
kat: Baclofen is given to prevent muscle spasm; so your doctor obviously thinks you have muscle spasm in your neck and shoulder area. Regular massage followed by ice packs will help to reduce the spasm without having to take the Baclofen.
wendyroper: Thank you for the advice. Can I just ask why he told me not to use any cream or massage or go to phyio or osteopath.
kat: You can use one of our hand held massage tools to apply regular massage to the neck and shoulder area for 10 minutes at a time 2-3 times a day but always follow with an ice pack for 10 minutes to reduce the inflammation. We do a gel pack but you can just use a bag of frozen veg.
kat: Do you have any other medical conditions?
wendyroper: no
kat: I’m not sure why he said that, unless there was a medical reason for it.
kat: Did he mention anything about it to you?
wendyroper: Thank you do you think wearing one of your necklaces would help
kat: Yes, definitely. The high strength magnetic necklaces are going to be the only ones strong enough. Are you drinking magnetised water?
wendyroper: yes I bought the magnetic water wand from you.
kat: How much are you drinking?
wendyroper: 3 pints a day.
kat: That’s good. A magnetic necklace will definitely help you, carry on drinking the water and start with some gentle massage but take it steady and if you have any problems get back to us.
wendyroper: thank you
