I have been wearing a magnetic strap for knee pain. So far I am very pleased with the results as the pain is now significantly less. However, my partner has an Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). I am concerned as to whether or not I can wear my strap at night as somewhere in the instructions it says not to get too close to someone with an ICD! Can anyone give me a definitive answer please?

Hi

The answer is yes, you can wear your magnetic devices in bed.

I always advise that people with pacemakers and ICD's not to use magnetic therapy themselves as there is evidence to suggest that a prolonged use of a magnetic treatment may tamper with the implanted device and it is always better to be safe than sorry.

However the magnetic strap won't effect him when you are wearing this unless you are in a situation that includes prolonged physical contact directly with him. Example of this are embracing, cuddling etc.

By just lying with him in bed you are not subjecting him to any contact with the magnets and he would be perfectly safe.

Hope this has put your mind at rest.

Best wishes
