My pony has arthritus in her hips that prevents her being ridden in the winter due to extreme stiffness.  She is also stiff on occaisions during the summer when she is out 24/7 but this usually goes after 5-10 minutes riding.
A friend has offered to lend me a couple of magnetic leg wraps she used on her previous horse.
Will these work for hip problems and do I put them on front or back legs?
Also if her legs are muddy, from the field, wil they still work?  (Can't wash them as no proper drying facilities and don't want her with mud fever as well)
Many thanks for any help / suggestions.
Would love to buy her a rug but have no spare money this winter.

Hi Gobi

Well ideally a rug would be best, but if that is out of your budget for the time being then giving the leg straps a try would be the next best option.

The mud shoudln't really be a problem, obviously the straps may need washing more often but it won't have an effect on them working.

You will need to put them as close to the pain as possible. So put them on the worst legs first and see how you go.

It would be nice to hear how you go
