Hi
I am a veterinary surgeon who practices alternative health. I currently use the Bemer and have had very good results. i am looking at makeing custom made dog blankets for my patients who I treat using acupuncture. I believe one can place magnets over acupuncture points and this can have similar results. It is something I plan for the owners to use in between treatments, I have access to cermatic ferrite magnets which are 1200 Guass. Do you think that these will be sufficent. If I was to the same thing for a horse. What magnets would you recommend?
Your help would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Megan

Hi Megan,

We've had many successful pain relief stories/treatments with magnets in cats, dogs and horses over the years.

we recommend that you use magnets that are of the highest strengths possible for the horses
and magnets that are at least 2000 gauss for the dogs and cats.

The higher the gauss rating (the strength) of the magnet, the deeper the penetration of the magnetic field
within the tissue. So using higher strength magnets will cut down healing time.

We use 2600 gauss neodymium magnets in our magnetic pet beds and our magnetic horse rugs.

you can get more info on the horse rugs here:

and the pmagnetic pet beds here:

hope his helps. if you need any more information please get in touch.

regards

Hi Sanj
Thank you so much for your reply.
I have sourced neomydium magnets which are between 2000 - 2400 Gauss. What is
concerning me is that the supplier says that they errode easily especially if
they get wet. Do you have any recommendations about water-proofing them.
I have thought about incasing the magnets in waterproof material. The blankets and
horse boots will most likely get wet at some time.
I was also concerned about metal being attracted to the products. For example Keys.
They feel very powerful
Your help is most appreciated.

hi Megan,

You need to outsource neo magnets that are epoxy coated. That way the magnets won't rust.
As for metal being attracted, it cannot be helped. we tend to store out products in a metal free
area. Another health and safety issue is to ensure that fingers don't get trapped between
magnets as it can be very painful!

please call us if you need anymore info...we might even be able to supply you....

best regards
